Step measure rule

The step measure is a comfort formula for safe and comfortable committing of stairs. It reads: 2 x upward gradient + 1 tread = 59 to 65 cm. 63 cm are ideal. When human walks its step length amounts to 63 cm. This formula results from this. With the stair rises the step length shortens, since additionally the horizontal one also a difference in height must be overcome. A “recommendable gradient ratio” is with an tread of 26 cm and an upward gradient of 18,5 cm.
